Desperation

You have walked too far
to reach here in a delicate spot.
You have waited too long
to pounce at the precise moment.
You believed in a lie
decorated with glistening hope.
You relied on your patience
a bit too much.

But now, the hour glass is empty.
It needs to be reversed down.
The sand and the time
has to flow and pass, again.

Will you still play along
to the tunes and the chorus
of the century old white-beards
and their sweet lies
to make your impasse, gentler?

Your heart is brimming with Love.
Your mind is stuffed with Hope.
Your clothing's beams are stretched,
for it cannot contain the inevitable.

Your head is exploding
at the rate of a nuclear fusion.
Your organs experience
an evolving transient mutation.
Your myopic eyes can't see the dream
you had in your younger mind.
You wage a war between
chance and choice.

You see chaos all around,
inside and outside.
You are losing the light
 clearly and hopelessly.

Just when you lose everything,
something shines at the far end.
You get excited over the mere sight.
You feel you have been right,
that your karma had paid off.

A light at the end of the tunnel.
A classical metaphor for Hope.
Patience seems to be a virtue,
you think. But it never was.
It never will be.

Because, there is neither a light,
nor the tunnel.
All you saw was a hole.
A blackhole, ready to engulf you,
all over, yet again.
